Character Background and Description

Corrina Sick is an environmental studies professor at the Apogee Polytechnical Institute (API) and a member of the Wintu Tribal Council. She specializes in Western North American biomes and is currently researching the effects of long-term spiritual habitation on the environment. She is an avid spokesperson for Indigenous rights and a patron of the Wintu Cultural Resource Center and Museum. She has two children, one attending API for electrical engineering and another attending UCLA for psychology specializing in magical trauma.

Corrina's personal summon is named Mem and takes the form of a large coyote, coming up the Corrina’s shoulders on four legs. Mem has appeared to the Wintu people every few generations for centuries. It is a living record of their traditions and culture. Once a month Corrina and Mem lead a weekend course in teaching Wintu to the next generation.

Corrina is also the head of the west coast branch of the North American Indigenous Magic Community (NAIMC). She is one of a handful of masters of traditional magic on the west coast, and specializing in melding her magic with multiple spirits. She has taken only 2 apprentices aside from her children. NAIMC’s goal is to preserve the traditional ways of magic but also to teach the next generation of its dangers.
